Miss Marple again, that "old tabby" who hopefully will have more than ninety lives, is named "nemesis" by a very rich man, now dead, whose will commissions her to investigate an unknown. Further communiques from beyond the grave send her on a tour of historic houses and gardens and a schoolmistress here, three sisters there, all provide the nexus to a fatally terminated young romance which involved her benefactor's son. It's all as comfortable as an old shoe and you know just how its fits — together perfectly.
