LITTLE WYNNE'S GIGGLY THING

Little Wynne lives with three adults. Each does something important to keep the household going. Molly grows the biggest vegetables in town, Kim bakes the fluffiest bread, Jeri has the shiniest floors. Little Wynne wants to help, but the grownups are too busy to notice. She decides to make something to get their attention, but the first two attempts, one for Molly and one for Kim, end up in the closet, unused. Her third invention is a giggly thing for Jeri, which Little Wynne tickles. The resulting giggles are infectious, and soon the whole household is a happier place. The resolution is labored; Willms's stylized illustrations are a lot more fun in the pregiggly scenes—idiosyncratic domestic settings accessorized with sleek fat cats—before matched sets of toothy grins take over the place.
