BABARS FAIR

The complete insouciance and artlessness with which the Babar books are written and illustrated, continues to fascinate. Here the people of Celesteville, in a project spearheaded by King Babar, have a fair to which all the animals from the surrounding territories are invited as participants too. They go through their motions a little like U.N. delegates on holiday and, being very human, endear themselves to us the more.
