THE NEIGHBORS

From the back of a classroom, these Strident, overscaled, hyperactive illustrations might look just great; at close range they're almost uniformly grotesque. The story is the simple repetitive one of the fox who usurps the hare's snug bark, hut when his ice house melts, then threatens away wolf and bear only to be frightened off in turn by the clever crowing of a cock. It's nicely told but doesn't bear watching.
