IT'S TACO KNIGHT!

A taco dinner is a sure path to many youngsters’ tummies—and hearts.

Maynor and Lourenço’s tale centers on a kingdom whose inhabitants are far too busy to bother cooking. Instead, they rely on the Knights of Dinner—among them the Pizza Knight, the Dumpling Knight, the Noodle Knight, and the Knight of Leftovers—who deliver various meals according to their specialty. The established suppertime rotation is interrupted by the arrival of newcomer Taco Knight, who quickly becomes everyone’s favorite. He supplants the other knights, serving tacos every evening. Chastened, Taco Knight helps the others prepare their specialties. Things return to normal…until Pancake Knight shows up. Readers will practically be able to taste those crunchy tacos, savory soups, and cheesy pizza slices, thanks to the amusing text, which serves up clever culinary wordplay (“Wrap it up, Sandwich!” “Soup Knight let this idea simmer”) as the knights romp across the pages. The digital illustrations rely on word balloons and cartoonish depictions of the diverse characters to spice up the plot.
