Song lyrics don't always translate well to text. This song is a pretty bland preschool ditty, with verses such as: ``We will ride our three-wheel bikes, three-wheel bikes, three-wheel bikes.'' Reading it aloud considerably enlivens the words, luckily, since the book seems predestined for story hours, with large illustrations and piano music (with guitar chords) in the back. The collage art work offers a few interesting tidbits—textured home- made white paper bread, and ghostly, gauzy material for curtains. The book suffers from a generic, happy-face demeanor, though inviting readers to create their own verses might bring out some improvisational gems. Overall, the pictures take little risk and with the text, make this pretty innocuous fare. (Picture book. 2-5)
