A curly haired little girl follows the growth of her baby brother in her mother’s stomach by comparing his size to things she knows. As he grows from the size of a dot to the size of her stuffed elephant, the toddler interacts with the baby, offering to read him a story, share her sandwich, and splash in the bath. When the big day finally arrives and she goes to visit her mother in the hospital, it’s as if she already knows the tiny baby she’s allowed to hold. Having watched as he grew bigger on the inside, the proud big sister welcomes her tiny brother into her world on the outside. Borders that feature dots, peanuts, tadpoles, mice, and elephants frame brightly colored graphic illustrations of this growing family. Families expecting a new addition will enjoy the playful nature of this tale. (Picture book. 2-4)
