Apple TV+ gave viewers their first look at Gutsy, the upcoming documentary series based on Hillary Rodham Clinton and Chelsea Clinton’s The Book of Gutsy Women.
The streaming service posted a trailer for the series, which is helmed by several directors, including Anna Chai (Living Undocumented), M.J. Delaney (Ted Lasso), and Cynthia Wade (Grit).
In the trailer, set to the song “Live Like I’ve Never Lived” by Ruelle, Hillary Clinton says in a voiceover, “We’re hitting the road to shine a light on women who inspire us to be bolder and braver.”
It continues with clips from the Clintons’ interviews with several of the women featured on the show, including Kim Kardashian, Megan Thee Stallion, Mariska Hargitay, Amy Schumer, Wanda Sykes, Kate Hudson, and Gloria Steinem.
One clip features primatologist Jane Goodall, filmed in a book-lined office, saying, “Every single person makes some impact on the planet every single day. We can choose what sort of difference we make.”
The Book of Gutsy Women was published by Simon & Schuster in 2019. A critic for Kirkus called it “a sterling educational text and a memorable commemoration of female trailblazers, past and present.”
Gutsy is scheduled to premiere on Sept. 9.
