Chase Infiniti has been cast in Hulu’s forthcoming series adaptation of Margaret Atwood’s The Testaments, Deadline reports.

Atwood’s novel, published in 2019 by Nan A. Talese/Doubleday, is the sequel to her iconic The Handmaid’s Tale. Both novels are set in the dystopian state of Gilead, where women have had their rights stripped by a patriarchal government; some are forced to bear children for the ruling elite. The Testaments won the Booker Prize, alongside Bernardine Evaristo’s Girl, Woman, Other.

Hulu produced the highly successful series adaptation of The Handmaid’s Tale; its sixth and final season begins streaming in April. The show has won 15 Emmy Awards from 76 nominations.

Infiniti, who made her screen debut last year in the television adaptation of Scott Turow’s Presumed Innocent, will play Agnes, a young woman who escapes an arranged marriage. She will star alongside Ann Dowd, who reprises her Handmaid’s Tale role as Aunt Lydia, for which she won an Emmy. Bruce Miller, showrunner on The Handmaid’s Tale, will serve in the same role for The Testaments.

Deadline reports that Elisabeth Moss, who plays the lead role in The Handmaid’s Tale, might guest star on The Testaments, which is scheduled to start filming next month in Canada.
