Dolly Parton and James Patterson are going on the road—virtually.
The country music legend and thriller author are embarking on an online tour to promote their new novel, Run, Rose, Run, Parton announced on Twitter.
“I can’t wait to see your smiling faces on my virtual book tour with @JP_Books!” Parton tweeted. “It has been such a pleasure writing #RunRoseRun together and we can’t wait to share the characters’ stories with all of you.”
Run, Rose, Run, about an aspiring country singer with a secret she’s desperately trying to hide, is the first collaboration between the “9 to 5” singer and the Along Came a Spider author. A critic for Kirkus wrote of the novel, “The fairy-tale characters and details of the country-music scene are so much fun you won't mind the silly plot.”
Parton and Patterson will take part in seven events, the first an independent bookstore virtual launch on March 6, the eve of the novel’s publication. The other events will run from March 9 to March 25, and will be sponsored by Books-a-Million, Indigo, Waterstones, Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and AARP Books.
For fans who can’t wait until March, Parton and Patterson will appear on Feb. 16 at Talk Shop Love, where they’ll be discussing their novel, and the companion album Parton recorded for it.
