Actor and dancer Alyson Stoner will tell the story of their life and career in a new memoir, People magazine reports.

St. Martin’s will publish Stoner’s Semi-Well-Adjusted Despite Literally Everything next year. The press says that the “revelatory and incisive” book will cover “family violence and betrayal [and] eating disorders and religious trauma.”

Stoner began their career as a child, appearing in Disney Channel movies like Cheaper by the Dozen and series including Drake & Josh and The Suite Life of Zack & Cody. As a dancer, they have performed in the music videos for Missy Elliott’s “Work It” and Eminem’s “Just Lose It.” They currently do voice acting for the animated series “The Loud House” and “Hamster & Gretel.”

In their book, St. Martin’s says, Stoner writes about “a turbulent home life with addict parents, harrowing accounts from rehab, the messy process of discovering their sexuality in church, rebuilding a life after an early professional peak, and charting a path of self-discovery and advocacy.”

Stoner shared news of their book on the social platform X, writing, “Finally. The full story. Everything that’s been left unsaid in interviews. Details that were hidden because of contracts. Stories not even my family and friends know.”

Semi-Well-Adjusted Despite Literally Everything is slated for publication on Aug. 12, 2025.
