Dolly Parton will tell the story of her life as a performer in a new book, People magazine reports.

Ten Speed will publish the country music legend’s Star of the Show: My Life on Stage, co-written with Tom Roland, in the fall. The press describes the book as “a stunning celebration of Dolly Parton’s iconic career as a performer.”

Parton, the singer and actor known for her hit singles “I Will Always Love You” and “Jolene,” as well as her roles in films such as 9 to 5 and Steel Magnolias, is the author of children’s books including Coat of Many Colors, illustrated by Brooke Boynton-Hughes, and Billy the Kid Makes It Big, co-written with Erica S. Perl and illustrated by MacKenzie Haley.

Star of the Show is the third book in a “photographic trilogy” that launched in 2020 with Dolly Parton, Songteller: My Life in Lyrics, co-written with Robert K. Oermann, and continued in 2023 with Behind the Seams: My Life in Rhinestones, co-written with Holly George-Warren and Rebecca Seaver.

“Featuring engaging stories and memories from Parton’s dynamic life behind the microphone, this book spotlights her signature performances and star-making moments, from singing in front of her family to premiering on the Grand Ole Opry stage and beyond,” Ten Speed says. “Her formative years performing with country legend Porter Wagoner are chronicled as she learns hard lessons from life on the road.”

Parton announced the new book on the social platform X, writing, “This book is a celebration of my journey as a performer, filled with personal stories, cherished memories, and never-before-seen photos from more than seven decades on stage.”

Star of the Show is scheduled for publication on Nov. 11.
