Mitch Albom’s latest novel is scheduled to hit bookstore shelves later this year.

Harper will publish the author’s Twice in the fall. The press describes the book as “a stunning love story that dares to explore how our unchecked desires might mean losing what we’ve had all along.”

Albom worked as a sportswriter before publishing the memoir Tuesdays With Morrie, about his friendship with sociology professor Morrie Schwartz, who was battling Lou Gehrig’s disease, in 1997. The book was a massive hit, spending years on the New York Times bestseller list, and it spawned a television movie adaptation starring Jack Lemmon and Hank Azaria. His next book, the 2003 novel The Five People You Meet in Heaven, was also a huge success.

Twice, Harper says, follows Alfie Logan, a man with the power to get a second chance at everything—although he must accept the outcomes of all of his second tries.

“In this latest tale from America’s favorite storyteller, Mitch Albom is at the top of his powers,” Harper says. “A love story that is enchanting, probing, and clairvoyant in matters of the heart, Twice will make you think, weep, and burst with love from beginning to end.”

Twice is scheduled for publication on Oct. 7.
