Model Winnie Harlow will release a children’s picture book in 2026, People magazine reports.
Penguin Workshop will publish Harlow’s Simply Winnie, illustrated by Sawyer Cloud, next spring. The press calls the book “a vibrant celebration of self-expression, confidence, and the magic of being unapologetically you.”
Harlow, a native of Canada, broke through in the modeling world in 2014 after appearing on America’s Next Top Model and becoming a finalist on the reality competition show. She has modeled for brands including Desigual, Diesel, Fendi, and Victoria’s Secret. She has publicly spoken about her experiences living with vitiligo, the skin condition she’s had since childhood.
The book will follow Winnie, a “spunky, stylish little girl” who struggles to fit in with her schoolmates. She gets a pep talk from her grandmother, who stresses to her the importance of being herself, no matter what others think of her. The cover illustration depicts a young girl with vitiligo.
Harlow announced the news of her book on Instagram, writing, “I want children to grow up in a world where diversity representation is the norm, not performative. Where ‘the ugly duckling’ is rewritten simply as ‘The Beautiful Swan’. Every page of this book is a piece of my heart. Growing up with vitiligo, I often felt misunderstood. I wrote this book for any child who feels different, to remind them not only are they not alone, they’re Seen!”
Simply Winnie is slated for publication on June 2, 2026.
