Reese Witherspoon is officially untamed.
The actress announced on Instagram her latest pick for her popular book club: Glennon Doyle’s bestselling memoir Untamed.
“This memoir is so packed with incredible insight about what it means to be a woman today, what did we learn as young girls about how to behave or believe, and why we need to free ourselves from a lot of these ideas that don’t work anymore,” Witherspoon wrote.
The Dial Press, the Penguin Random House imprint that published Doyle’s book, says the memoir “explores the joy and peace we discover when we stop striving to meet others’ expectations and start trusting the voice deep within us.” A reviewer for Kirkus called the book a “lucid, inspiring chronicle of female empowerment and the rewards of self-awareness and renewal.”
“This book spoke to me so loudly and clearly...I swear I highlighted something in EVERY chapter,” Witherspoon raved.
Doyle’s previous books, Love Warrior and Carry On, Warrior, written under the name Glennon Doyle Melton, were both national bestsellers, and earned her a huge fan base of readers who identified with her inspirational writing.
Doyle celebrated her book’s selection on Twitter, writing, “I am so inspired by this woman. So honored that she saw herself in these pages.”
