Sarah Jessica Parker will be among the judges for the 2025 Booker Prize.

The prize announced the judging panel for next year’s award, given annually to “the best sustained work of fiction written in English and published in the U.K. and Ireland.”

Parker, the actor known for her role as Carrie Bradshaw in the HBO series Sex and the City and And Just Like That…, was the editorial director for the Hogarth imprint SJP and last year founded another imprint, SJP Lit, with publisher Zando.

The judging panel will be chaired by Roddy Doyle, the Irish author known for his novels including The Commitments, The Woman Who Walked Into Doors, and Smile. He will be the first Booker Prize winner to chair the panel; he won the award in 1993 for Paddy Clarke Ha Ha Ha.

Two authors who have been longlisted for the Booker will also join the panel: Ayọ̀bámi Adébáyọ̀, who was nominated for A Spell of Good Things, and Kiley Reid, who was longlisted for Such a Fun Age. Author Chris Power (A Lonely Man) will also serve as a judge.

Doyle said in a statement, “I’m looking forward to working with a great panel of judges. I’ve never been in a book club before, but I think I’m probably joining a good one.”

The longlist for the 2025 Booker Prize will be revealed in July, with the shortlist following in September. The winner will be announced at a ceremony in November.
