Ruth Ware is bringing back the character of Lo Blacklock in a sequel to her bestseller The Woman in Cabin 10, People magazine reports.

Gallery/Scout Press will publish the British author’s The Woman in Suite 11 next year. The novel features the return of Lo, the travel journalist who was at the center of Ware’s 2016 novel.

The Woman in Cabin 10 followed Lo on assignment aboard a luxury cruise in the North Sea. In the novel, the reporter witnesses a woman being thrown overboard but can’t convince anyone of the crime after all the cruise’s passengers are accounted for. A critic for Kirkus wrote of the book, “Too much drama at the end detracts from a finely wrought and subtle conundrum.”

The novel is currently being adapted into a film directed by Simon Stone and starring Keira Knightley, Hannah Waddingham, and Guy Pearce.

In The Woman in Suite 11, Lo attends the opening of a luxury hotel in Switzerland owned by a reclusive billionaire, hoping to get an interview with him. She encounters a woman who claims to be the man’s mistress and says that her life is in danger.

“For years, readers have asked whether I might return to any of the characters from The Woman in Cabin 10,” Ware told People. “With Lo now 10 years older, and at a different stage in her life, I’m excited to share a fresh perspective on her story—and to send her on a new adventure in The Woman in Suite 11.”

The Woman in Suite 11 is slated for publication on July 8, 2025.
