The Texas Book Festival announced a lineup of more than 125 authors for its virtual celebration this fall.
Among the featured guests at the two-week event will be David Chang (Eat a Peach), Kevin Kwan (Sex and Vanity), Isabel Wilkerson (Caste), and—all write, all write, all write—Matthew McConaughey, the actor-turned-professor whose literary debut, Greenlights, will be published on Oct. 20.
The festival usually takes place over one weekend in Austin but this year will be held entirely online and stretch over two weeks, from Oct. 31 to Nov. 15.
Other authors who will participate include Sigrid Nunez, presenting her new novel, What Are You Going Through, and Julia Alvarez, who will discuss her latest book, Afterlife.
The celebrations will include a teen book festival, with Elizabeth Acevedo and Nic Stone as the keynote speakers. Candace Bushnell, Lilliam Rivera, and Francisco X. Stork are among the authors scheduled to participate in that event.
The festival previously announced the featured authors at its annual First Edition Literary Gala: Alvarez, Nick Hornby, and Natasha Trethewey. Comedian and writer Michael Ian Black will host the fundraiser.
Lois Kim, the festival’s executive director, predicted this year’s event will be “one for the record books.”
Kim said, “The authors we are hosting are so talented, and we can’t wait to share dozens of unforgettable conversations with everyone, everywhere.”
The full lineup of guests is available at the Texas Book Festival website.
